Do I need to dress up to fit in at Columbia Road Baptist Church?2019-10-12T02:56:05-04:00

Many of our members and guests will be wearing business casual or more formal clothes (suits, dresses, etc.). But you’ll see people in t-shirts, hoodies, and jeans, too. If you think “church” and not “beach party,” you’ll feel right at home!

How do I know where to go?2019-10-12T02:56:43-04:00

Greeters are waiting for you at the Main Entrance (you can’t miss it). They’ll guide you throughout your time with us. Feeling independent? There’s signage inside the building to direct you.

What are your services like?2019-10-17T03:22:08-04:00

Our service will be about an hour, and we’ll do our best to start and end on time.

We’ll pray together. You’re welcome to pray along silently or just observe.

We’ll sing songs. The lyrics will be up on our screens and available in our hymnals. Feel free to join in or just listen.

We’ll receive an offering. This is for our members, but if you want to, you can contribute financially as the offering plate passes by or online through your mobile device.

Someone will preach a message from the Bible. He’ll read a Bible passage, explain its meaning, and show you how you can practically apply it.

We’ll have an invitation (a time for people to respond to the message’s call to action). People may come forward and pray quietly in the front of the church. Many people will pray in their seats or sing the selected song.

If someone is choosing to believe on Christ, get baptized, or join the church, he or she comes forward and speaks with the pastor during this time, too. There’s no pressure on you to do anything – just respond as God leads you.

What is your pastor like?2019-10-12T02:58:15-04:00

Pastor Bill is an engaging, energetic speaker. He preaches practical, expository Bible messages. He’ll read a Bible passage, explain its context and meaning, and show you how you can apply it to your life.

He’s also approachable. You’ll usually find him chatting with members and guests after services in the Main Auditorium or in the Lobby. Come on up and introduce yourself. He’d love to meet you and your family.

Want to get a feel for him before you arrive? Watch one of his archived sermons.
