“I have never been more or less saved than the moment I was first saved. Not one bad deed has deducted from my salvation. No good deed, if there are any, has enhanced it. My salvation has nothing to do with my work and everything to do with the finished work of Christ on the cross.” ~ Anxious for Nothing (Lucado, p. 44-45)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
~ Ephesians 2:8-9
Praise God that it doesn’t depend on me to keep myself saved! I did nothing to earn my salvation, and I can do nothing to lose it. The New Covenant is between God, the Father, and God, the Son. I am a blessed beneficiary of the arrangement, but I’m not responsible for it. God would have to first fail before my salvation could ever be in jeopardy!
Take heart, fellow Christian! We are safe in the hands of our loving Savior for all eternity.
